Gene Regulation

The Modic group aims to decode the intricate principles and networks of cross-regulatory interactions between RNAs and proteins that govern gene expression.

RNA-Protein & RNA-RNA Networks

Most RNA-binding proteins regulate hundreds of RNAs, while each mRNA interacts with numerous RBPs. The Modic Lab examine these complex interactions at the network level to decipher regulatory pathways.

Synthetic Genomics

The Modic Lab study how cells decide which direction to take during development and what roles RNA molecules play in the complex process of embryogenesis.

BIOINFORMATICS AND MACHINE LEARNING.png

Bioinformatics & Machine Learning

The Modic Lab develop and apply machine learning methods and bioinformatic tools tailored specifically to RNA biology and genomics to uncover novel functions of RNA molecules.

Decoding and Re-engineering the RNA Coordinate System

The Modic Lab are uncovering the principles of embryonic development and unraveling the secrets of RNA with its complex transcriptome networks. Harnessing the power of integrative approaches, they employ cutting-edge tools from functional RNA biology, synthetic genomics, bioinformatics, and machine learning to drive our discoveries forward using stem cells and synthetic embryo-like model systems.
