Curious about DNA, aliens, and the future of science?  At Girls’ Day at JGU Mainz, Center SynGen invites young minds to explore how we can design and engineer DNA - from our own to “extraterrestrial” ideas. Our goal: inspire the next generation of scientists and show how creative and exciting research in genomics can be.

Biology is technology! and we’re excited to show it. The Center SynGen at KIT, thanks to Prof. Hilbert and Dr. Stoev, is taking part in this year’s Boys’ Day, giving them hands-on insights into modern biology, where they are still underrepresented.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Peter Koo (Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory) presented a hybrid seminar in Heidelberg. His talk was entitled"Interpreting and designing regulatory DNA with deep learning".

Researchers from all Center SynGen locations participated in a three-day course on Molecular Dynamics simulations organized by Dr. Mariana Kozlowska (DNA VirtMat Unit) in Karlsruhe. The course equipped participants with both theoretical understanding and practical skills to investigate the physical principles governing biomolecular structure, dynamics, and interactions.
