Science, Creativity, and Communication: Mona Wellhäusser Wins FameLab Germany 2026

We are incredibly proud to see Mona Wellhäusser from the Hilbert Lab at KIT win both the First Prize and the Audience Award at FameLab Germany 2026 with her inspiring talk “Wissenschaftlicher Wackelpudding” (“Scientific Jell-O").

Insights into the Center SynGen: School Students Visit on Boys’ & Girls’ Day

Shaping our future to be free of stereotypes and rooted in equal opportunity is also a mission of the Center SynGen. As part of the nationwide Boys’ & Girls’ Day, the Center SynGen welcomed school students to its locations at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, offering them hands-on insights into modern life sciences research.

We were pleased to be present at the KIT Open Day - part of the 200th anniversary celebrations of KIT - which welcomed members of the public to the South Campus. Center SynGen members introduced the topic of Synthetic Genomics to a wide audience.
